Natural Botox & Dysport in Charleston, SC Movement, preserved.
Neuromodulators should soften what time has changed, not erase expression.
Susan's approach to Botox and Dysport is intentionally conservative. Treatment is designed around the individual face, preserving movement and expression while quietly softening the lines that make you look more tired or tense than you feel. For patients who want to look refreshed, not treated.
More people want help that doesn't show. Natural-looking Botox is exactly that: smaller, precise doses, placed for your expressions, so friends notice you look rested and never quite know why.

More than a decade, one point of view.
The most beautiful results come from restraint. A face that still moves is a face that still looks like you.
The goal is not a forehead that never moves. It is a face that still looks like yours when you laugh, only rested.
On Botox & Dysport®
The questions most people ask before their first treatment. If yours isn't here, it's a good one for the consultation.
Will I look frozen?
No. Frozen is what happens when a dose is chosen to stop every muscle completely. Susan doses to soften, not to stop. You will still frown a little, smile fully and raise your brows. What changes is the deep crease that forms when you do.
What areas does Susan treat with Botox® and Dysport®?
Forehead lines. The horizontal lines that deepen when you raise your brows. Light doses, placed higher, so the brows stay where they belong.
Frown lines, the 11s. The two vertical lines between the brows that make you look stern or tired when you are neither. Often the first place people begin.
Crow's feet. The fan of lines at the outer eye. Softened, never stilled, so a real smile still reaches your eyes.
Will people be able to tell I've had Botox®?
Not when it is done well. Natural-looking Botox softens the lines that read as tired, stern or stressed, and leaves the expressions that read as you. Most people notice that you look rested, well slept, maybe back from vacation. They don't notice Botox.
What's the difference between Botox® and Dysport®?
Both are purified botulinum toxin type A, and both are FDA approved to soften frown lines. They differ in formulation. Dysport often settles in a day or two sooner and tends to spread a little more, which can suit a broad area like the forehead. Botox tends to stay a little more precisely where it is placed, which can suit small muscles around the eyes and brows.
Their units are not interchangeable, so the numbers on a price list are not a fair comparison. Susan chooses the product for your face and the area being treated.
How much movement will I still have?
Most. The goal is that you still look like you when you talk, laugh and react. On a first visit Susan starts on the lighter side. The result has fully settled by two weeks, which is the right moment to decide whether to add a little. Adding is easy. Taking it away means waiting it out, so she would rather begin light.
Can you soften my forehead without dropping my brows?
Yes, and it is one of the most important things to get right. The forehead muscle is the one that lifts your brows. Treat it too heavily, or too low, and the brows sit lower and the eyes look heavier.
Susan keeps forehead doses light and placed higher, and often treats the muscles between the brows that pull them down. Balancing the two softens the lines while the brows stay where they belong, or sit slightly lifted.
I'm in my 50s. Is Botox® still appropriate?
Yes. Plenty of people begin in their 50s, and plenty continue well beyond. What changes with age is the plan, not the eligibility. By the 50s some lines are etched into the skin even at rest, so a neuromodulator will soften them but rarely erases them alone.
That is where Botox or Dysport pairs well with collagen work like Sculptra, which improves the skin and structure underneath. Susan will tell you honestly what each can and cannot do for your face.
What is Baby Botox®?
Baby Botox means smaller doses, placed precisely, for a softer and more natural result. It is not only for younger patients. Anyone who wants to keep their full range of expression, or who is trying Botox for the first time, can start this way.
It is close to how Susan treats every face. Begin light, let it settle for two weeks, and add only if you want more.
I'm in my 20s or 30s. Is it too early for Botox®?
No. In your 20s and 30s, Botox is preventative. Lines form where a muscle folds the skin in the same place thousands of times a day (frowning, squinting, raising your brows). At this age those lines show only when you move. Softening that movement early keeps them from etching in at rest. Preventing a line is far easier than softening one that has already set.
Preventative treatment, sometimes called Baby Botox, uses small doses placed precisely where your expressions crease the skin. You keep your movement, the skin gets a rest, and many younger patients need treatment less often than three or four times a year.
How often will I need treatment?
Results begin to show in two to five days and are complete at about two weeks. They typically last three to four months. Many patients settle into a rhythm of three or four visits a year, and some find they can stretch the time between visits with consistent treatment.
